Applique Retreat -- October 16th - 18th, 2009

There were 24 enthusiastic ladies at our Applique Retreat this year. We arrived on Friday afternoon at Camp Wightman in Griswold/North Stonington, Connecticut, and set up our applique work for the weekend. Camp Wightman is located in the beautiful Connecticut woods on a lake. The lodging is very comfortable and the food is bountiful and delicious, prepared by trained cooking staff. We had dinner the first night, breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Saturday, and breakfast and lunch on Sunday. We were so fortunate this year to share Camp Wightman with the Providence Mandolin Orchestra. We were all able to relax and enjoy an entire weekend of stitching together and sharing our applique ideas. This has become an annual event for this Thames River Quilters' sponsored activity.
