The guide told us that these garages are all located in a separate area from the apartments. They are actually used more for storage units than as havens for cars. They appear to have an important socialization aspect, as we were told that locals meet here for picnics, barbecues, and hangouts with friends. Many men use the garages as workshops, she told us.
