Black BA Twin Block 1

 

This is the first piece of applique I ever did. Block number 1 of BA #1. You have to start somewhere. This pattern, "Double Hearts" is from Elly Sienkiewicz's book Baltimore Beauties and Beyond, Vol One. Most of the blocks in both quilts are from this book.
I spent days searching for this red, hoping that it was the "Indian Red" called for. At least this was my idea of what Indian Red should look like.
