Mostly Applique, the Final Episode

This will be the final installment on the Red and White quilts. If you wish to look at what I have posted about the Red and White quilts to this blog, go to the bottom of the page and click on "Red and White" in the Labels section. It was my intention to concentrate on the applique quilts, rather than the pieced quilts to encourage those who love applique so much to pursue some new ideas in their stitching.

(Click on the photos for larger images.)

This was a fun trip. There was a lot of inspiration for new patterns to applique.
I was reminded of the excessive amounts of quilting on these quilts.
And, a lot of the applique had quilting stitches on the applique itself which gave it a unique look.

Margaret, what a treat to see the wonderful pictures you have taken to share with us! I was in awe of the circles on that one quilt, as they are not easy to keep round.
