Patti has sent this updated photo.
She contacted an orchid expert who stated that it is not uncommon for an orchid to take 12 years or so to germinate and produce flowers.
Patti offered to return the orchid to me, but I think it is better at her home, safe from the clutches of my inquiring cat, Mandu.
