La Palma Banana Crops

The northern end of La Palma is literally covered with banana crops. Generally, one person is responsible for the entire crop on one property. A great deal of care is spent cultivating a perfect, small, sweet La Palma banana. They are popular in Europe. The air temperature has to be approximately 73F night and day to grow the perfect banana. Our head chef picked up a good supply while we were there. They also have a rum distillery on the island. I enjoyed a taste of their special banana rum.
