Civil War Bride, Block 1

I had exactly 6 yards of this Jo Morton background fabric. I wasn't sure if it would be too dark, but I tried to provide sufficient contrast. What do you think?

There is also the Pat Cox version, Nadine. That one is so tempting, too!
