On the Tagus River, one sails past the Discoveries Monument on the way
to the pier. This remarkable monument represents a 3-sailed ship with
many of Portugal's world explorers on deck (Vasco da Gama, Magellan,
Prince Henry the Navigator, and King Manuel the First as well as many
others). The impressive building in the background is the Jeronimos Monastery.
