Several of us are working on Sue Garman's "Ladies of the Sea" quilt. Patti, one of our applique ladies, decided to make dimensional flowers on this Viking ship pattern. The original called for a flat dimension. The dimensional flowers really have made this block "come alive". (Using the Ellen Heck "Lily-of-the-Valley" technique.)

Margaret, la verdad es que las flores le dan mucha vida al quilt. Parece que fueran de verdad, si casi se pueden coger con las manos!!!! Un beso
Margaret, what a wonder of embroidery, like a Viking ship it?? Thanks for the comments on my blog, and forgive my English, which is very academic. Kisses for you and Mandu.
Where can you learn Ellen Heck's techniques??? Does she have a book??? Love your blog and I am thinking about doing a LOTS
